Botox
Botox is our most popular treatment and the Botox Sisters are the #1 provider of Botox in Long Beach and the surrounding areas. Botox became FDA approved for cosmetic use in 2002 but has been trusted by the medical community for many years.
What is Botox?
Botox is a purified protein and when injected, reduces facial lines and wrinkles. Forehead lines, frown lines, and crows feet are just a few of the many aesthetic areas we treat with Botox. Therapeutically, Botox is used to treat eyelid spasms, muscle spasms, overactive bladder, and migraine headaches. In addition to aesthetics, our office also uses Botox to treat TMJ and teeth grinding. This alleviates jaw pain and any tension caused by strong use of the masseter muscle. We also use Botox to treat excessive underarm sweating known as hyperhidrosis.
How it works:
Years of making the same facial expressions will eventually cause permanent facial wrinkles.
Botox simply weakens the muscles that make these strong facial expressions. When injected into the muscles, Botox blocks nerve signals from the brain, effectively smoothing wrinkles caused by muscle movement. Botox is FDA approved to treat horizontal forehead lines, frown lines, crows feet, and vertical lines that form between eyebrows.
We are trained medical professionals who know how to properly place the Botox without interfering with your ability to make facial expressions.
What to Expect:
Botox appointments are very brief and there is no downtime after the procedure. Please give the Botox 2 full weeks to settle. Bruising, redness, tenderness, and slight headache may occur but will resolve. On average, Botox typically lasts 3-4 months. However, individual results and longevity will vary.
