What is Filler?
Filler is an FDA approved injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin that adds hydration and volume. As we age, Hyaluronic acid diminishes and our skin becomes loose and wrinkles start to appear. Fillers restore volume depletion, fill in lines, and add volume to the lips. We also use fillers to achieve the “liquid facelift” which is a safe way to enhance the patient’s natural beauty.
What to Expect
Before your filler treatment, we will cleanse your face and apply a topical anesthetic to provide comfort. The actual injections are administered with a small sterile needle or cannula causing minimal pain. Your entire office visit will be about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the extent of the treatment.
Bruising, redness, swelling, and tenderness may occur but will resolve. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the filler to settle and for the swelling and bruising to completely resolve. Fillers typically last 6-12 months with the exception of Juvederm Voluma which lasts up to 2 years.
